What information do we hold

  • Company name
  • Addresses of Company
  • Company bank details and related financial information
  • Contact details as supplied by your Company or your employees
  • Your contact name, email address, phone number, and enquiry preferences when you sign up for our email alerts, and how you use our emails – for example, whether you open them and which links you click on. Information on how you use the site, using cookies, and page tagging techniques.

Importantly, any personal data that Tech IP holds or processes relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (an identifiable natural person can be identified, directly or indirectly, by reference to an identifier such as their name, ID number, or online identifier such as an email address), shall be limited only to the purpose of providing the service for which you have engaged with us and shall be done in compliance with Article 28 of the GDPR.

Users may exercise certain rights regarding their Data processed by Tech IP Limited.

In particular, Users have the right to do the following:

  • Withdraw their consent at any time. Users have the right to withdraw consent where they have previously given their consent to the processing of their Personal Data.
  • Object to processing of their Data. Users have the right to object to the processing of their Data if the processing is carried out on a legal basis other than consent. Further details are provided in the dedicated section below.
  • Access their Data. Users have the right to learn if Data is being processed by Tech IP Limited, obtain disclosure regarding certain aspects of the processing, and obtain a copy of the Data undergoing processing.
  • Verify and seek rectification. Users have the right to verify the accuracy of their Data and ask for it to be updated or corrected.
  • Restrict the processing of their Data. Users have the right, under certain circumstances, to restrict the processing of their Data. In this case, Tech IP Ltd will not process their Data for any purpose other than storing it.
  • Have their Personal Data deleted or otherwise removed. Users have the right, under certain circumstances, to obtain the erasure of their Data from Tech IP Ltd.
  • Lodge a complaint. Users have the right to bring a claim before their competent data protection authority.

Where Personal Data is processed for a public interest, in the exercise of an official authority vested in the Owner, or for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by the Owner, Users may object to such processing by providing a ground related to their particular situation to justify the objection.

Users must know that, however, should their Personal Data be processed for direct marketing purposes, they can object to that processing at any time without providing any justification. To learn, whether the Owner is processing Personal Data for direct marketing purposes, Users may refer to the relevant sections of this document.

Any requests to exercise User rights can be directed to Tech IP Ltd through the contact details provided in this document. These requests can be exercised free of charge and will be addressed by the Owner as early as possible and always within one month.

Legal Action

The User’s Personal Data may be used for legal purposes by the Owner in Court or the stages leading to possible legal action arising from improper use of this Application or the related Services.  The User declares to be aware that Tech IP Ltd may be required to reveal personal data upon request of public authorities.

In addition to the information contained in this privacy policy, this application may provide the user with additional and contextual information concerning particular Services or the collection and processing of Personal Data upon request.

As well as our Privacy Promise, your privacy is protected by law. This section explains how that works.

Data Protection law says that we are allowed to use personal information only if we have a proper reason to do so. This includes sharing it outside Tech IP Ltd. The law says we must have one or more of these reasons:

  • When it is our legal duty, or

  • Credit reference agencies
  • Reputable data suppliers

We also obtain data from publicly available sources such as information held in Companies House, and information about you that is openly available on the internet.

Tech IP Limited will not pass on your personal data to third parties unless: it is a requirement of the service or product you have with us, where this will be detailed within the contract, if it is a prerequisite to the service or product you intend to have with us, you will be notified beforehand, or it is a legal requirement to do so:

  • Network service providers who provide the service agreed in your contract
  • Other service providers if purchased through us, e.g. insurance companies
  • Companies we have a joint venture or agreement to cooperate with
  • Companies we have contracts with, to provide you with the services agreed in your contract, e.g. device repair centres
  • If you use direct debits, we will share your data with the Direct Debit scheme
  • Debt collection agencies or other debt recovery organisations
  • Delivery services
  • Law enforcement agencies, regulatory organisations, courts, or other public authorities if we have to, or are authorised to do so by law
  • If we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we may disclose your personal data to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets as part of the process of evaluation and to ensure continuity of service

We won’t share your information with any other organisations for marketing, market research, or commercial purposes, and we don’t pass on your details to other websites.

The length of time we retain your information is dependent on what we are holding and why we are holding it. We will not keep your information for longer than is necessary for our business or legal requirements.

We may also store personal data for any of the following reasons:

  • Respond to any questions or complaints
  • To show that we treated you fairly
  • To maintain records to comply with legal and regulatory rules that apply to us in keeping with our legitimate interests and contractual obligations
  • We may store your personal data in paper or electronic formats, both of which are stored securely on our servers.

Sending information over the internet is generally not completely secure, and we can’t guarantee the security of your data while it’s in transit. Any data you send is at your own risk.

We have procedures and security features in place to keep your data secure once we receive it.  Please note that after a reasonable time length your data will be wiped from our server.

How to Apply

If you wish to make a subject access request to Tech IP Ltd, your request must be:

Before we can act on your request, we must:

  • be sure of your identity
  • be supplied with information from you to locate the information you seek

To make sure we are only sending the information to someone authorised to have it, we may at our discretion require you to provide two forms of ID from the below list:

  • Passport
  • Driving license
  • Birth certificate
  • Utility bill (from last 3 months)
  • Current vehicle registration document
  • Bank statement (from last 3 months)
  • Rent book (from last 3 months)

Tech IP Limited does not use automated processes for decision-making. We may use a credit reference agency to perform credit checks when you apply for products or services with us however this is not an automated process, we use the credit reference agency’s recommendations, and then we will manually review and make our decision based on this and other factors.

We may use your personal information to tell you about relevant products and offers. This is what we mean when we talk about ‘marketing’.  The personal information we have for you is made up of what you tell us, and data we collect when you use our services, or from third parties, we work with.  We study this to form a view on what we think you may want or need, or what may be of interest to you. This is how we decide which products, services, and offers may be relevant for you.

We can only use your personal information to send you marketing messages via email if we have your consent to do so.  We may phone you to offer these services using our ‘legitimate interest’. That is when we have a business or commercial reason to use your information. It must not unfairly go against what is right and best for you.

These services have the purpose of hosting and running key components of this Application, therefore allowing the provision of this Application from within a unified platform. Such platforms provide a wide range of tools to the Owner – e.g. analytics, user registration, commenting, database management, e-commerce, payment processing – that imply the collection and handling of Personal Data. Some of these services work through geographically distributed servers, making it difficult to determine the actual location where the Personal Data are stored.
